The P.R.O. (Performance, Race, Optimized) Softshell Cycling Pants offer strategic protection from the weather for your best performance in any range of cool temperatures and conditions. Designed to keep you warm and dry on the inside and out, the P.R.O. Softshell Pants are constructed with windproof and water-resistant Softshell with Cocona laminated fabric panels on the front to provide weather protection where you need it most. This fabric features a 20,000/8,000 laminate exterior surface to repel the elements as you ride while thermal back panels and interior keep you warm, quickly wicking moisture away from the skin to the exterior of the garment for fast evaporation so that you also stay dry. The race-optimized pants feature a comfortable semi-form fit with a drawcord waistband and are equipped with eight-inch ankle zippers for easy on/off over shoes, articulated and vented knees for additional comfort at the knees when riding and reflective elements for low light visibility.
Designed for high-performance comfort and convenience, the pants are bike ready with a top-of-the-line 3D P.R.O. Chamois in a detachable mesh liner. The P.R.O. Chamois has maximum density, breathability, and heat dispersion ratings for long and frequent riding. The Chamois offers three layers of protection, beginning with soft, breathable open-cell wicking foam, medium-density super-wick shock-absorbing foam, and high-density shock-absorbing foam, seamlessly bonded together in a 13-millimeter four-way stretch panel. The Chamois disperses heat from the groin with Carbon Reflex thread. Silver ions reduce bacteria-controlling odor and helping to regulate temperature for long-lasting comfort.
Like all Pearl Izumi products the Men's P.R.O. Softshell Cycling Pants have a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in materials and workmanship, excluding failures from accidents, misuse, improper care, or normal wear. For best results Pearl Izumi recommends washing its products with detergents free of additives, such as fabric softeners and perfumes, because detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. The best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Hang dry the product or dry it on a low or warm dryer setting. Never use a hot dryer setting or use a commercial dryer as this will damage the fabric's performance.
